Sunset

I saw you today in the most
Unexpected of places
Your smile was even more
Perfect than I remember
You looked so happy
In your tie dye shirt
And I felt so happy
Being with you

And even though you
Stayed to talk to me for a while
And even though you asked me
A dozen questions about
How I have been
I felt the walls come up because
Why would it work out between us?
How could it possibly work?

You're beautiful but
So is the sunset
Coming in every night
To take my breath away
And then
Stealing slowly behind
The hidden hills
Leaving me with a
Deep melancholy
Just like today as I stood there
In the cafeteria
Staring up at your
Perfect golden sunlight

And I swallowed my pride
As I watched your sun set
For the hundredth time.

  1. Baby, please don't go
I didn't mean to seem so
    Perfect

    Honey pie don't leave
    Longing does not deceive
    (it's) Perfect

    The sunset is still brilliant
    Glowing, effervescent, ebullient
    (and) Perfect

  3. And who are you, the proud maid said.
Whom I must love, so hard?
Only a smile of a different kind,
That’s all the truth I know.

In a coat of gold or a coat of red.
    A sunshine you remain
And mine you will not be, my boy
As long as sun will rise

And so she spoke, and so she wrote,
    That maid of Malibu
But now the rains weep o’er her heart
With no one there to hear

Yes now the rains weep o’er her heart,
And not a soul to hear.

And so she spoke, and so she wrote,
    That maid of Malibu
But now the rains weep o’er her pride
With no one there to heal.

Yes now the rains weep o’er her pride
With not a soul to heal.

And so she spoke, and so she wrote, that maid of Malibu
But now the rains, weep o’er her place
With not one there to see.

Yes now the rains weep o’er her sea
With not a soul to grasp.

(You can sing this with the following tune, from "The rains of Castamere, (Game of Thrones). With the marvellous low voice you have, it's going to be awesome! <3)
