All The Rain

Rusty red tin cans
Filling up with falling rain
Slick, skinny shoots of grass
Straining high in crowded plains
Bulging puffs of heavy clouds
Weighing down on molded roofs

All the rain in deep, wet rivers
Couldn't wash my thoughts of you.

  1. Oooh I love the rhythm here, Kath! You also have some rad sibilance going on in the 3rd and 4th lines! I totally admire how your latest works seem to incorporate more rhyming in them! You and I usually write free verse with more slant rhymes, but I'm seeing a lot more (straight? since they're not "slant".. haha) rhymes lately! Rhyming has always been much harder than rhythm for me. So I love this new style you seem to be mastering!! :) Love you girly, thanks so much for sharing your art and heart! <3
